Yarra Hotel Sunday show.A nice afternoon methinks.

Over the moon we are.

We supported one of our favourite Melbourne acts ever- The Black Eyed Susan’s at both their recent Melbourne Christmas Shows- heck we were invited by Mr Snarski himself.

Playing to the sold out Caravan Music Club in Oakleigh was a moving experience- what a crowd , venue , vibe and sound man.

Jess / Jep sung two songs with the band as well- one of Dep’s favourite bands  ‘The Pogues’ with Fairytale of New York and Whams ‘Last Christmas‘ believe it or not – heartfelt  and creepy.

Did a wonderful interview with Denise Hyland at the fantastic RRR studios on her TWANG show and rounded the weekend off at a show at The Yarra with the fantastic Bell St Delays as support.

We performed 6 news songs -all 3 of the nights that will be on our ‘Second album’ we are are working on RIGHT NOW!!

Peace out- have a good holiday.

And Melbourne thanks for being tops!

Sincerly,

Jep and Dep.

‘CUT ALL TIES’ SINGLE LAUNCH THIS SUNDAY AT FREDA’S.

HEARTBREAKER JEP AND DEP

FACEBOOK EVENT HERE.

Purchase WORD GOT OUT here 😉

This October long weekend at Freda’s in Chippendale, HEARTBREAKER SESSIONS is proud to present the launch of Jep and Dep’s latest single ‘Cut All Ties’.

JEP AND DEP received widespread critical acclaim for their 2014 debut album Word Got Out which saw them touring Europe in 2015 and performing numerous shows here in Australia with the likes of Lost Ragas, Jo Meares, Johnny Marr, Aldous Harding and many more. The duo have a minimal folk-noir sound that has the ability to conjure the drama of bruised romance as readily as it explores the dark corners of the heart and mind. All with just Jessica Cassar’s swooning voice, complimented and contrasted by Darren Cross’ (Gerling) singing and acoustic guitar.

“The country duet is often maligned. Done with the right intent – as here, with minimal distraction from the central conversations – the emotions are front and centre, the simplicity sharpening the focus. Despite the relative youth of the names on the marquee, we’re talking early Johnny Cash and June Carter here, rather than Kenny and Dolly. Darren Cross’ almost-croon and strummed guitar makes for good contrast with Jessica Cassar’s sometimes bell-like lamentations. Babe Come Down’s distant cymbal splash, or My Man’s banjo, just underscore the love – or love gone wrong …” Ross McClelland, The Music

Also appearing on the bill is special guest LEAH FLANAGAN who melds an ageless voice with complex and alluring lyrics in a combination that has audiences entranced. It’s a sound reminiscent of singer/songwriters of the 70‘s that has captured hearts with laments and celebrations of love, sincerity and soul. As a musician, recording artist, professional singer and hired gun for major musical collaborative groups including the acclaimed Black Arm Band, Leah Flanagan has worked with prolific and versatile artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello, John Cale, Sinead O’Connor, David Bridie, Ricki Lee Jones, Gurrumul, Paul Kelly, Liz Stringer, Robert Forster, Dan Sultan and Jim Moginie.
